WORLD LEADERS: SAVE HWPL AND SHINCHEONJI CHURCH MEMBERS FROM SOUTH KOREAN GOVERNMENT HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION

1. Abraham’s Children Foundation hereby draws the kind attention of World Leaders and All Mankind to the Human Rights Violation of South Korean government on HWPL and Shincheonji Church Members without regards to International Convention on the matter,

2. Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working on Human Rights believe that Human Rights is a matter of humanity being humane and that all nations need to uphold fundamental Human Rights with respect to gender, religion and ethnicity.

3. Actions taken by the South Korean Government and the Fundamentalist Conservative Christian Organizations on the COVID-19 pandemic origin in South Korea without regards to International Convention on Human Rights should be condemn by World Leaders and All Mankind.

4. Global Action is needed now to stop South Korea Government, Seoul Mayor, Governor of Gyeonggi Province and the Media from thus:

a.    Publicly oppressing Shincheonji Church of Jesus, a religious denomination.

b.    Shutting down of Shincheonji Church facilities after a member was confirm with COVID-19.

c.     Profiling Shincheonji Church members at home and abroad using their personal information provided by the church.

d.    Propagating that Shincheonji Church brought Covid-19 to South Korea from China.

e.    The blaming game on COVID-19 on Shincheonji Church and HWPL.

f.      Cancellation of the corporate registration of HWPL on grounds that HWPL and Shincheonji Church has the same Chairman.

g.    Legal charges against the Chairman of HWPL.

h.    Tagging and stigmatization of Shincheonji Church members as heretics or cult that result in deprogramming (force conversion of religion) by Fundamentalist Conservative Christian Organization (Protestant Groups).

i.       Pressure by Fundamentalists Protestant Groups on South Korea Government to break up HWPL just because HWPL Chairman Man Hee Lee is also the Chairman of Shincheonji Church.

j.       Releasing of personal information of Shincheonji Church members to Media without their consents.

k.    Discrimination against Shincheonji Church members and over 6,000 Human Rights violations that included, Psychological, Physical Harassment and Church Members being fired from their Job.

l.       Taking no action to investigate the death of two members.

m.  Taking action to end the suit by South Korean Government Charging HWPL Chairman for murder.

5. Abraham’s Children Foundation supports all actions already taken by International Community in the past that South Korean Government are yet to positively response and addressed. These International Community actions are thus:

               I.            Decision of the United Nations Human Rights Council 44th Session.

            II.            European Union Political Report

         III.            Publications in Journals  and TV SHOWS

CONCLUSION:

Former President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela reminder World Leaders that , “When the history of our times is written, will we be remembered as a generation that turned our backs in a moment of global crisis or will it be recorded that we did  the right thing?”
